Beautiful Unit, the latest venture from the Trust Me I’m A Thief record label (Jape, Redneck Manifesto, Si Schroder, Warlords of Pez), are set to embark upon a tour with a difference this October as they utilise a spate of unconventional sites around the country. Playing in everything from the back of a van in a carpark to a disused ESB sub station, the band explain that ‘the idea is to break down the barrier between performer and spectator …we’re getting rid of the stage’.

Beautiful Unit’s music  uses repetitive grooves and 8 bit sampling to explore their music’s possibilities and test the  limits of sonic manipulation. The project, entitled ‘New Sounds, Differnt Spaces’, will be complemented by visuals courtesy of Hector Castelles and the Dublin leg of the tour will be brought to us in conjunction with the fantastic Dublin Electronic Arts Festival (DEAF).

Hi, thanks so much. I usually forget that people occasionally read this until I get a comment so thanks for reminding me and giving me the kick I need to update more often 🙂
